Joel is from Roanoke, Virginia, and received a B.S. degree in Business Administration in 2000, and a Master’s in Business Administration in 2012, from Averett University. As a student, he was a member of the men’s basketball and golf programs and met his wife, Adrian, who is also a two-time Averett graduate. They have two sons, Patrick and Liam. In his spare time, Joel enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.

Why did you choose AU?
I chose Averett because they offered multiple majors and concentrations. Even though I was undecided, I found a program that was right for me and allowed me to play basketball and golf.
What is one interesting fact about you that people don’t know?
Our second son’s middle name is Averett.
What is your favorite place on campus?
I love Averett in the fall, especially Saturday nights under the lights watching Averett football games.
