Corey is originally from Axton, Virginia just outside of Martinsville. He graduated in 2018 and received a B.S. degree in Political Science from Averett. While a student, Corey was a member of the football team, a founding father of Pi Kappa Zeta fraternity, President of student government, and worked for the school paper The Chanticleer. In his spare time, Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and pets or writing fiction stories.
What’s your favorite place in Danville?
My favorite place in Danville is Cotton Tail. It’s a small, wonderful event venue in downtown. Its rustic appearance and history made it the perfect place for my wife and me to get married.
What advice do you have for a student choosing Averett?
My advice to any student joining our family is, life is what you make it and no one else can be responsible for your happiness except for you so make the best of every situation.
What is one interesting fact about you that people don’t know?
An interesting fact that people don’t know about me is that for a few years as a kid I wanted to be and trained to be a ventriloquist. It went terribly and that’s why I am here to help with the admissions journey!
